WHAT I'M WATCHING/WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING (THIS HOLIDAY SEASON)

First some holiday themed TV episodes and movies I think you would find downright delightful. Here we go...

1. Seinfeld Season 4, episode 12 "The Pick"

Here's the plot - Elaine sends out a revealing photo of herself in Christmas cards.

Here's a clip...

2. Seinfeld Season 3, episode 12 "The Red Dot"

Here's the plot - This episode revolves around an early Christmas present George buys Elaine as a thank you for getting him a job at her office. Only, in order to save money, he picks out a cashmere sweater that's on clearance, which has a red dot on it.

Here's a clip...

3. Seinfeld Season 10, episode "The Strike"

Here's the plot - The name references Kramer's story in the episode: after being on strike from H&H Bagels for more than a decade, the union makes a deal, sending him back to work. Almost immediately, he goes back on strike, because he can't get Festivus off.And that, of course, is why this one is remembered. We learn George's family celebrates the holiday of Festivus instead of Christmas. George, of course, hates the holiday, and for good reason: his father takes it extremely seriously.

Here's a clip...

4. Friends Season 6 , episode 10 "The One with The Routine"

Here's the plot - On the set of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve", Joey tries to kiss Janine at midnight and Monica and Ross resurrect their dance routine from high school.

My fave line of dialogue goes to Phoebe: "Thank you for my AZ."

Here's a clip...

5. The Office Season , episodes "A Benihana Christmas" part 1&2 , Season 3, episode 10 & 11

Here's the plot - This extended Christmas-themed episode has so much to offer: dueling office-holiday parties, “Nog-a-sake” shots at the Scranton Benihana, and Steve Carell as Michael in peak dejected jackass mode following a sudden breakup.

Here's a clip...

6. 30 Rock Season 3, episode 6 "Christmas Special"

Here's the plot - 30 Rock celebrates Christmas the only way it knows how: with Jack (Alec Baldwin) accidentally hitting his mother (Elaine Stritch) with a car, Liz (Tina Fey) using a Letters to Santa program to turn herself into a white savior, and a hastily put-together live TGS Christmas special.

7. Bob's Burgers Season 7, episode 7 "The Last Gingerbread House On the Left"

Here's the plot - Bob gets involved in an intense gingerbread house building competition.

8. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - "A Very Sunny Christmas" - season 6, episode 13

Here's the plot...

After years of being mistreated by Frank during the holiday season when he buys gifts for himself, Dennis and Dee decide to teach him a lesson by contacting his old business partner, Eugene, for help to make the mean-spirited and nihilist Frank see the Christmas spirit of giving, rather than taking. Meanwhile, Mac and Charlie reflect on their childhood Christmases, and realize that they were not as joyous and wonderful as they remembered.

Here's a clip....

9. Elf (2003)

Here's the plot...

Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa's elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn't fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father.

This movie is a heartwarming delight. If you've never seen it, you will NOT be disappointed...

Here's a clip...

10. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)

Here's the plot...

As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awry quickly.

Here's a clip...

11. Brooklyn Nine Nine, Season 1, episode 11 "Christmas"

Here's the plot...

When Holt starts getting death threats, Jake takes charge of his security; Amy tries to get a precinct Christmas photo; Terry gets his mojo back.

Here's the clip...

UNTIL 2020, MY LOVELIES...
