It's 2019, I know some of you are still shocked, but we made it to the New Year. I know all of us have made our resolutions, goals, and etc.

However, at Dawn Says, we like to keep it simple: New Year, More Fun.

Let's begin...

WHAT I'M WATCHING/WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING (a.k.a. Netflix now has my full attention):

1. "Friends from College" Season Two (available on Netflix)

I really enjoy this show about a bunch of adults and friends trying to navigate their lives, adulthood, and each other. I also must confess, Fred Savage, is a personal favorite for me on this show.

Here's the trailer (I warn you it's NSFW, watch it on your own time, my lovelies) ....

2. "You" Season One (available on Netflix)

I am very intrigued about this show about a man obsessed. I have always liked the actor Penn Badgley ever since he was on the fun and frivolous show "Gossip Girl" as a fellow Brooklynite, "Dan Humphrey".

This, obviously, is an adult role about a man whose desires take over his ability to act logically... or he's just batsh*t. You decide. Here's the trailer...

3. "The Hook Up Plan" Season One (available on Netflix)

This a french TV series that gave me the giggles as soon as I saw the trailer. It's about a young woman and her friends who want to get her out of a romantic rut.

Here's the trailer (another NSFW, watch it on your own time)...

4. "Close" a Netflix original film (available January 18th)

This is a thriller starring the terrific actress Noomi Rapace as a bodyguard trying to protect her client.

Here's the trailer...

And now for something you'll really like...

TIPS TO MAKE YOUR 2019 GREAT TO OUTSTANDING:

I have a few articles that I saw on Buzzfeed, which I thought were fun and helpful. We all would like to improve.

Here are the links, and of course I'll post my favorite bits from each article...

1. This was cute a way to record your "Wins" and what you're grateful for during the year, etc.

2. If you're in to self-improvement, Buzzfeed posted a wonderful list of self-help books.

Here are a few of my faves...

The book "How to be Alone" by Lane Moore (a collection of essays)

The book is The Lost Art of Reading Nature's Signs, a book full of tidbits about nature.

The book Daring Greatly about parenting your best, it's full of parenting tips I hope you'll enjoy.

The book Home Comforts: The Art and Science of Keeping House

The book The Artist's Way. A great workbook to re-discover and re-connectg with your own creativity.

3. One last Buzzfeed link about weight-loss to inspire you to reach your fitness goals...

My fave blurb from the article...

So far I've lost 106 pounds! I was at my heaviest at 286 pounds back when I started college. It took me four years to get down to 180 pounds, and I spent the last few years rebuilding my muscle mass and getting to a healthier weight.

My biggest saving grace was meal-prepping. Instead of continuing my unhealthy relationship with food, I began appreciating how to create healthy and sustainable eating options that worked with my busy schedule and kept me from getting bored and from emotionally overeating. As soon as food became an ally rather than an enemy, everything else started to fall into place.

Another huge lifestyle change was switching from unrealistic goals (i.e. wanting to loose xx pounds in a year) to achievable lifestyle changes (i.e. wanting to work out three times a week, or replacing sugary drinks with water). Setting yourself up for small successes at the beginning leads to incredibly big successes at the end of the day.

UNTIL NEXT TIME, MY LOVELIES...
