Okay, I have to confess something. I pride myself on seeing how many shows I can keep up with at once. I know, I know, it's the weirdest multi-tasking ever, but we all like to have something to be proud about. So...give me this. Today, a few recipes and a few things for you to put on your viewing radar. Let's begin...

FIRST UP, FOOD! It's a bit chilly around these parts ... at least for LA. We have had lows in the 40s! I have been all about slow cooker chilis, stews, etc. Here's some recipes for you to enjoy that will warm you up and fill your belly...

MY PERSONAL FAVE RECIPES TO WARM YOU UP AND MAKE YOU GO "ME WANT FOOD"!

1. GOOP.COM slow cooker turkey meatballs

Ladies and gents, I come to this recipe time and time again. It is full out YUMMY! In fact, I'm having my personal sous chef (PJ) plug in the slow cooker Friday morning, so we can feast on turkey meatballs )on a bed of polenta) the..entire..rainy..weekend. Huzzah!

2. The World's Best Lasagna

Honestly, I haven't made this in AGES! ... I don't understand why. The recipe is delish... and with a 5 star rating from over 11,000 reviews, you can't go wrong.

3. "Mangchi's Korean Fried Chicken"

Do you know when you get some yummy Asian cuisine take-out style and you order those extra crispy skin, but juicy chicken wings or drumsticks? ...Well this recipe is WAY better than that. I love Maangchi. Let's try that again, I LOVE Maangchi! Now, that second one was a little more fun.

Seriously, I subscribe to her YouTube channel. If you like to explore cooking international dishes...Honestly? You can't go wrong with some yummy Korean food. Not a fan of Kimchi? There's about a THOUSAND other dishes you can try. So try this, the video is embedded below...

4. GOOP.COM Braised Mexican Chicken

I'm trying out this dish this weekend. So it will be a first. However, the recipe sounds heavenly and all you need is a slow cooker.

Next time I will post some vegetarian recipes and tips for all of you trying to cut down on your meat consumption. Now on to BINGE WATCHING! Here..we..go...

WHAT I'M WATCHING/WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING (RAINY DAY/CHILLY WEATHER BINGE WATCHING)

1. "Hot Rod" (2007, available streaming on Hulu)

Andy Samberg has already established himself as a talented comedian. However, this little gem, finds him in rare form.

Here's the premise of this heart-warming comedy:

For Rod Kimball (Andy Samberg), performing stunts is a way of life, even though he is rather accident-prone. Poor Rod cannot even get any respect from his stepfather, Frank (Ian McShane), who beats him up in weekly sparring matches. When Frank falls ill, Rod devises his most outrageous stunt yet to raise money for Frank's operation -- and then Rod will kick Frank's butt.

And here's a clip...

2."Alone Together" (2018/streaming on Hulu, airing on Free Form, and available on Spectrum On Demand)

I talked up this show before, and now I'm hooked on it. It's a delightful show about two self-proclaimed unattractive milennials navigating the appearance obsessed world of Los Angeles.

Here's a clip...

3. Key Largo (1948)

This classic Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall film noir takes place during a brutal storm.

Here's the plot: This classic film noir by John Huston stars Humphrey Bogart as World War II vet Frank McCloud. Visiting Key Largo to pay his respects to the family of his late war buddy, McCloud attempts to comfort his comrade's widow, Nora (Lauren Bacall), and father, James Temple (Lionel Barrymore), who operate a hotel. But McCloud realizes that mobsters, led by the infamous Johnny Rocco (Edward G. Robinson), are staying in the hotel. When the criminals take over the establishment, conflict is inevitable.

Here's the "old school" trailer...

4. "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" (2004)

If you love Will Ferrell and you're looking for a silly fun comedy with a stellar cast, this should be your go to movie.

Here's the trailer...

5. "Side Effects" (2013)

This is a great slow burn thriller, directed by Steven Soderbergh. Check out the trailer...

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW, MY LOVELIES. UNTIL NEXT TIME...
