Ahh, two weeks in to January and already there is so much to entertain us. We can look forward to the Winter Olympics, and those good old streaming channels are setting us up for some new entertainment.

So, how should we entertain ourselves? Let's begin...

WHAT I'M WATCHING/WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING

1. "Electric Dreams" (available on Amazon Prime)

This is an anthology series adapted from 10 short stories by Phillip K. Dick. I checked out episode one, and I for one, am hooked! Here's the trailer...

2. "Portlandia (The Final Season/Season 8) premieres on IFC, Thursday, January 18th

I have to catch up on this weirdly wonderful show. I'm on Season 3, but I plan to binge watch a few seasons so I can get on board for the show's final "Hurrah!"

Even if you don't live in Portland, you can't help but be charmed by this show.

Here's a trailer for the final season...

3. "Alone Together" (available on Free Form)

I just fell in to this show about two snarky twenty-somethings. Well, I will just cut and paste the synopsis...

Status seems to be everything in Los Angeles, and two millennials from differing backgrounds strike up a platonic male-female friendship as they seek to navigate the streets of L.A. These two best friends, Esther and Benji, try to navigate the vanity of the city while watching each other's backs but also calling each other out for nonsense. Karey Burke, Freeform's executive vice president of programming and development, said, "Our audience will quickly fall in love, as we did with real-life best friends Esther and Benji, who navigate a world of perfect 10s as self-proclaimed 6s."

4. "Future Man" (available on Hulu)

I have to be honest with you, I still don't know what to make of this show, but I'm in to it. It's about a young slacker who goes back to 1969 to try to save humanity from total extinction. Believe it or not, it's a comedy.

Here's a trailer...

5. Heathers (premiering March 7th on Paramount Network)

I LOVED the movie "Heathers", and the fact that they're doing a re-boot just tickles me pink. Oh, that's right, I said...tickles..me...pink.

Would you like to check out the trailer? You know you want to, so...

WHAT I'M WATCHING/OLD TO ME AND MAYBE NEW TO YOU

1. "Reaper" (2007 - 2009/Season One available to stream on Hulu)

I LOVED "Reaper", I was so sad to see such a charming show not get a third season. However, if you missed out on this underappreciated gem. Here's the plot in a nutshell:

When he was going through his teen years, Sam often wondered why his parents never seemed to mind his slacking off, although they always pressured his kid brother Keith to excel. When he turns 21, however, Sam makes an ungodly discovery: His parents sold his soul to the devil before he was born. When Satan pops in to explain that Sam is going to serve as his bounty hunter, tracking down escaped evil souls and returning them to hell, Sam's first reaction is to tell Satan to go to, well, home, but it quickly dawns on him that breaking a deal with the devil is likely to have more serious consequences than getting grounded. Before you can say, Is it just me, or is it hot in here?, Sam embarks on his dangerous and often terrifying new gig as the Reaper, assisted by fellow slackers Ben and Sock, as well as Andi, Sam's girlfriend.

...And here's a season one promo trailer (the trailer is a bit cheesy, but I promise you the show is great) ....

2. "Deadbeat" (2014 - 2016 available on Hulu)

This great show only lasted three seasons, but it was a delight. Here is the plot:

The series follows Kevin Pacalioglu, a medium for hire, who attempts to solve various ghosts' unresolved problems, so that they can move on to a final resting place. I highly recommend it.

Here's the trailer...

3. "Workaholics" (2011 - 2017 available on Hulu)

These three slackers are crude, rude, delusional, and absolutely delightful. It was on for eight seasons. Here is the premise:

A single-camera comedy featuring three friends who work together as telemarketers from 9 to 5, and live together from 5 to 9.

Here's a promo for Season One, check out the boys on a road trip...

That's all for now, my lovelies. Until next time....
