Well, well, well, another year has passed us, and now it is time to make another trip around the sun.

Since we have another 365 days, how shall we entertain ourselves? Well, I have a few suggestions.

Let's begin...

WHAT I'M WATCHING AND WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING:

1. "Search Party" (2017/available on TBS or TBSONDEMAND)

I can not say enough good things about this show. I have been a long time fan of the actress Alia Shawkat, ever since she was on the fantastic "Arrested Development". This show has the vibe of the movie "Ghost World" with a mystery and it is set in my beloved home town of New York City. The show is quirky and charming and full of surprises. Here's a trailer for you...

2. "Happy" (2017)/SYFY-

This is a weird and wonderful show on SYFY, starring the always great Christopher Meloni. It's based on a graphic novel and is about a former policeman now turned hit man. This might be too weird and violent for some. I have attached a trailer, but be aware it's definitely NSFW...

3. "Grownish"Tonight is the series premiere of "Grownish" on FREEFORM.

I was just telling a good friend how the show will be the millenial generation's "A Different World". This quote from the series creator posted on the site "Lainey Gossip" backs up my statement...

I’m so excited for tonight. Tonight is the series premiere of grown-ish, which is the spin-off of black-ish, a show I love SO MUCH, starring Yara Shahidi as Zoe Johnson who goes off to university. And, of course, many people, including creator Kenya Barris, are comparing it to A Different World. As he told Vanity Fair:

“A Different World, for me, was in a lot of ways responsible for me going to college,” Barris admitted. “I wanted to go to a black college, and I wanted to get out of Los Angeles. It’s just a natural part of all of our journeys, that idea of leaving home.”

Let's check out the trailer...

4. "Big Mouth" (2017) -

A spectacular animated series about the hilarity and tragedy of puberty, but this is NOT for kids. I really can't say that enough. It is very much a cartoon for adults that takes you back to the days of cracking voices, strange body hair, and raging hormones. I have to be honest, this series is VERY crude and irreverent, but believe it or not it also has a lot of heart. It's about two best friends Nick and Andrew, and their group of friends trying to navigate puberty. The cast includes Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Jenny Slate, Jordan Peele, Maya Rudolph, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, and Fred Armisen.

5. "Man v. Lion" (2015) , a National Geographic channel documentary -

I LOVE nature shows, and this documentary is a "can't miss". They regularly air it on the History Channel. Check out the trailer and the bravery of veteran animal tracker, Boone Smith...

6. "The Tick" (2017) -

The re-boot of "The Tick" on Amazon Prime is a delight. Here's a clip...

7."Endeavour on Masterpiece" (2012 - )/Masterpiece on PBS -

If you're a fan of the character "Inspector Morse, this show is about his younger days as a detective. It's a brilliant show and Shaun Evans is a stand out as the young "Inspector Morse". Here's a clip...

8. "The Indian Detective, Season One" (2018) - A Netflix Original

I'm a bit biased, because I'm a fan of the comedian, Russell Peters. It's about a disgraced Indian cop, who visits his dad in Mumbai and ends up investigating an insane case. Admittedly, I have only seen the pilot. However, already I'm a fan, and I know I will be binge watching the entire series. Have a look...

9. "THE ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE: AMERICAN CRIME STORY", premieres January 17th on FX

The latest installment in Ryan Murphy's American Crime series. I'm excited for it and I hope you are too. Gianni Versace was a fashion icon and he met a tragic end. However, hopefully his story will be beautifully told.

Here's the trailer...

10. "Orphan Black"/BBC America -

I'm still on Season Two, but if you haven't checked out this fantastic sci-fi series, you definitely should.

Here's an old season one trailer...

Until next time...
