Honestly, around these parts, as much as we --- meaning me --- adore Halloween, I can't help but get excited for Thanksgiving, because lets face it.... the eating is better (cue deeply felt sigh).
So in order to get you as excited as I am, here are a few things for you to view to get you ready for the time of family, friends, and stuffing. Let's begin...
THE BEST THANKSGIVING THEMED TV EPISODES TO WATCH...
1. "Bob's Burger's" "Dawn of the Peck" episode (Season 5, Episode 4)
Yes, my love of Bob's Burgers continues, and if you like to laugh, I highly suggest this Thanksgiving themed episode about vengeful turkeys...
2. "Friends" "The One with the rumor" (Season 9, Episode 8)
Okay, let's get it out of the way, I'm aware a certain actor named Brad guest starred, but that's not why I love it. I love it for one thing and one thing only...
"We said you had a teeny weeny"...
3. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" "The Gang Squashes their Beefs" (Season 9, Episode 10)
Yes I know "The Gang" is deplorable, but watching their antics is highly addictive, including when they try to make peace in this episode with everyone they have butted heads with throughout the series. It goes badly in spectacular fashion....
4. "Friends" "The One with all the Thanksgivings" (Season 5, episode 8)
Another classic Thanksgiving themed Friends episode...
5. "Seinfeld" "The Mom and Pop Store" (Season 6, Episode 8)
I've got one thing to say: when you buy Jon Voight's car, make sure it is actually his car.
6. "Will and Grace" "Queens for a Day Part One and Part Two" (Season 7, Episodes 10 & 11)
Will and Grace have several Thanksgiving themed episodes that will make you chuckle. However, I love this one where Will is trying to impress his boyfriend, Vince's, family...
7. "Master of None" "Thanksgiving" (Season Two, Episode 8)
Okay, I'm a HUGE fan of Aziz Ansari's "Master of None", and this Thanksgiving episode is about Dev's best friend, Denise, trying to come out to Dev and to her family over a series of Thanksgivings. The actress Lena Waithe won an Emmy for the episode. It's wonderfully written and poignant (I'm serious you will cry and laugh --a two-for-one shot-- I did), and it has Angela Bassett. Do I REALLY need to say anything else? Here...
8. "Bob's Burgers" "Turkey in a Can" (Season Four, Episode 5)
Paste Magazine sums the synopsis of this episode best:
Bob just wants to cook a spectacular dinner for his family, and maybe soak up a little bit of their praise in the process, but his plans are complicated by the fact that his turkeys mysteriously keep ending up in the toilet. As tensions and stresses mount, Bob races to get a turkey prepared without disaster befalling it, but can he also suss out the identity of the culprit?
I posted a "bit" from the episode. Enjoy...
9. I'm throwing in a wild card.... Iron Chef! It returns next month, with a Thanksgiving themed episode on November 8th. Since I'm an avid cook and avid eater, I LOVE Iron Chef. I'm all about "plating", my lovelies! Here is the info and a link to the article itself...
That's all for now, but expect the latest weekend soundtrack next time. Be good or be good at it....
