"10, 20, 30, 40.

Tell me that you wanna hold me.

Tell me that you wanna bore me.

Tell me that you gotta show me.

Tell me that you need to slowly.

Tell me that you're burning for me.

Tell me that you can't afford me.

Time to tell your dirty story."

- "Bull in the Heather" by Sonic Youth

"Oh well it's just like the ocean under the moon.

It's the same as the emotion that I get from you.

You've got the kinda love that could be so smooth, yeah.

Give me your heart. Make it real or just forget about it." - "Smooth" by Santana

Good Evening, my lovelies.

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve.

We here at the "House of Love" aren't thinking about resolutions. All we're thinking about is a wee bit of debauchery.

So here is to New Year's! We hope you all have a grand old time.

Without further ado, let's begin…

EVENING QUOTES:

"Since, because it's an extension of New Year's Eve, smokers are already on a smoking roll and cannot be expected to stop abruptly on the stroke of midnight with so much nicotine in the system. Also dieting on New Year's Day isn't a good idea as you can't eat rationally but really need to be free to consume whatever is necessary, moment by moment, in order to ease your hangover. I think it would be much more sensible if resolutions began generally on January the second." - "Bridget Jones' Diary" by Helen Fielding

MUSIC CORNER/music to party with on New Year's Eve:

"Okay, buddy, uh, I was just trying to cheer us up. So, go ahead, put on some old sad bastard music. See if I care."

  • Jack Black as "Barry" in "High Fidelity

  • DAWNY'S 2-CENTS- I think the list below is fairly free of "Sad Bastard" music, but you be the judge. Here we go…

  1. "Bull in the Heather" by Sonic Youth

  2. "Cannonball" by The Breeders

  3. "Smooth" by Santana

  4. "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions

  5. "6 Underground" by The Sneakerpimps

  6. "Add It Up" by Violent Femmes (Although I still think the actor Ethan Hawke's rendition is surprisingly good.)

  7. "Alive & Kicking" by Simple Minds

  8. "And She Was" by Talking Heads

  9. "None of Your Business" by Salt& Pepa

  10. "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

  11. "Blame it on the Tetons" by Modest Mouse

  12. "Rapture" by Blondie

  13. "Kiss Them For Me" by Siouxsie and the Banshees

  14. "Everything I Asked For" by The Maine

RANDOM MUSINGS:

That's all, my lovelies, just some music to get you thinking about having fun tomorrow night, as for your dear editor…she'll surely have some fun.

SEE YOU IN 2009, UNTIL NEXT TIME…
