"Yeah, but you know what, maybe I'll wait 3 weeks. How's that? And tell her I was cleaning out my wallet and I just happened to run into her number." "Then ask her where you met her." "Yeah, I'll ask her where I met her. I don't remember. What does she look like? And then I'll asked if we f*cked. Is that... would that be...T, would that be the money?" "You know what. Ha ha ha Mike, laugh all you want but if you call too soon you might scare off a nice baby who's ready to party." " Well how long are you guys gonna wait to call your babies?" "Six days." - "Swingers" (1996) "You take yourself out of the game. You start talking about puppy dogs and ice cream and of course it's going to end up on the friendship tip." - "Swingers" (1996) "Wait I'm gonna do my thing with the thing." - "Swingers" (1996) Good Afternoon, my lovelies, I'm going to do my thing with the thing. Without further ado, let's begin… AFTERNOON QUOTES: "Don Quixote would understand golf. It's the impossible dream." - Jim Murray, American Sports writer. Winner of a Putlizer Prize (1919-1998) BOOK CORNER/books on the "House of Love" radar: 1. "On the Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin 2. "The Stand" by Stephen King (We here at the house still haven't finished it, since we got a cold similar to the deadly virus in the book. It was too eerie of a coincidence, but now it's time to buck-up-camper and finish it.) 3. "Don Quixote" by Miguel Cervantes 4. "No Exit" by Jean Paul Sartre MORE BOOKS TO COME. NEXT… FOOD FOR THOUGHT/Holiday cheer means try something new: The holidays are coming and 2009 is around the bend. I've been thinking about New Year's Resolutions—I'm always one step ahead people. J However, I've decided to change things up a bit. When you make a resolution, there's all this pressure. I've switched to merely deciding to try new things each year I'm trotting around this blue marble. It makes this whole change-in-the-new-year thing feel like more of an adventure, and less of an obligation. What new things are you curious about? I'm not judging you, it could be anything… except no harming children or animals, but adults are fair game. J Just please don't harm me of course, who would unlock the door to the "House of Love"? …Oops. Sorry, back to the subject. It's me on that tangent thing again. We were talking about trying new things, but now that I think of it…it doesn't have to be new. It can be something you once loved, but have kind of tossed to the wayside. Here are some of the things on my list, hopefully it'll help you create your own… Things that were old and are now new again- 1. Checking out more galleries and art (I use to prowl The Met in NYC, and now I'm feeling very culture deprived, my darlings.) 2. Scrabble- For some reason I've become obsessed again for some reason. I might fully geek out and have small Scrabble get togethers. Okay, more like food, booze, and Scrabble get togethers. What is YOUR word for a triple word score? 3. Flea Markets- The best flea market in NYC, is in Chelsea. There's a cute one here in L.A., on Fairfax Avenue. Yes, like the Afghan Whigs song. Next… Brand Spankin' new things to try- 1. I can't believe I'm saying it out loud, but I'll probably choose next year to get pounded by some waves…That's right, surfing. I'm thinking in spring or summer, when it's actually somewhat warm. :) I think about it quite a bit, it's gotten to the point that it's weird---considering I don't OWN a surfboard. "ROCK STAR"(one of our members) says I'll be a M.I.L.F. on a surfboard. He says I'm of M.I.L.F. age…I don't know how I feel about that. Man, this "Baby Leon" has changed everything. J Next… 2. Thinking before I speak- Okay, we here at the house don't think we're completely tactless, but we can let our Leo passion get the better of me…that's not good. If we can't control our emotions, we can't control ourselves…How's that for a slice of fried gold? J Now, we're not talking about holding back what you feel. Honesty is a wonderful thing in a lover or a friend. Someone who can put it out there, that's respectable. It may not be something we like to hear, but at least we know. LOL! I'm just talking about saying what you feel with great style and delivery. We'll probably start this one early at the house. Next… RANDOM MUSINGS: More love to come. Have a great weekend, my lovelies. Don't do anything I wouldn't do…and if you do, do it better. UNTIL NEXT TIME…
